Aap Ki Kachehri - A Reality showThe end of popular saas-bahu sagas on star plus has come up with a refreshing new reality show by a women host, IPS Officer, Kiran Bedi who is the first Indian and highest ranking woman officer with an experience of 35 years in Indian Police Service.

Aap Ki Kachehri - Kiran Ke Saath a show is replacing Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi popular among Indians and middle-east. It was about to begin from November 10 but delayed by a week due to a black out planned on Indian television for the coming week.
The reports said that Aap ki Kacheri is loosely based on the American reality show Judge Judy where the host Judy discusses various cases with the normal public and then tries to find out who is guilty in the particular. It is a medium of settlement of disputes with Kiran Bedi as a mediator /arbitrator. Kiran will listen to complaints lodged by customers regarding any products or service and she would give an unbaised verdict for the same. The best part of the show is that, the decision would be made in just 1 hearing and the settlement of the disputes will be in no time.
It is a reality show with real people, real cases and real situations with an aim to educate and entertain. It’s a two-in-one show where there is an entertainment plus education. It is said that the objective of the show is getting the affected parties to discuss the issue (who suffers), looking at probable solutions to their problems outside of courts and also educating others in similar situations. A great helper!

Kiran will look into cases in which there will be fair enquiry through application of laws, argument and mutual agreement and resolution for all the queries.

The show combines the law with socially acceptable and viable alternatives to a situation.
It will provide a platform to conflicting parties to air their grievances and problems before a fair and neutral person i.e.; Kiran Bedi and walk away with counsel and resolution Thus, we can say that these are out-of-court settlements of actual small claim cases involving social or moral disputes.

Kinds of cases featured on AKK are

Disputes which may be brought to the show will be:
• Between two persons and not against any government body or authority;
• Of a civil nature, that is, it does not relate to a crime or criminal act;
• Not already pending in a court, tribunal or other legal or governmental authority;
• Allowed under Indian Law to be the subject of arbitration/mediation;

Any person can come with any civil dispute to be resolved in an effective way.

Kiran has been an inspiration to many young woman and also popular among teens and children with adults. It is a bold step taken by the Star Plus to air a show which is bold and educative one. Many people sitting in the houses can solve the problems if the show has some significance and is up to the level of out of court resolution.
We have to wait and watch for the new reality show which is said to be “Real show”.

Aap Ki Kachehri -Kiran Ke Saath is produced by Synergy Adlabs and Famous police officer Kiran Bedi is hosting it. The show will start in a week on November 17 at 10.30pm Monday -Thursday

This will indeed be a welcome and refreshing change from the ”ghisi-piti” saas-bahu sagas. Hopefully this will not go off air suddenly due to fall of TRP ratings, as I have my doubts whether Indian middle class will love these kind of shows; instead of the glitz and glamour of nonsensical serials!

Finally there is something that I too would enjoy watching, was sick and tired of serials saturated with melodrama + internal politics within family.

Indeed am too apprehensive whether our society will take this serial with the same fervor as they take ‘the saas-bahu sagas.’

After reading the article, it seems that this show makes sense. This is a good way of educating people about our judiciary system. People in villages and small towns would also get a chance to know their basic rights. Indeed a good step for the betterment of the society. Hope this show goes hit.

Being a female, I've always admired and respected Miss Kiran Bedi for her courage and impartial attitude. If she is hosting a show, then it has got to hold some significance for the society. Time for the housewives to come out of those silly dramas and get some education.

is it not washing dirty linen in public
while it may be entertainment for the strangers it will be like the bed\drawing room having a glass wall with window open
the real people will appear like gold fish in a glass bowl
much like another popular american show i think i dare
where the moderator can ask any question to the participant which he/she is supposed to reply truth fully a lie can be caught instantly
people do not want their dirty secrets to come out of closet
much like rodies
i wonder instead of bringing people in open would like their identity to be kept secret
or faces disguised like in confession box
they may present their case & ms bedi can give her point of view / ADVICE not judgment
there may be jury out there out of the audience who will also give their views may be by punching instantly
all those views including that of ms bedi can come out on the screen
it is up to the parties involved to do what they like out of the same
